Jason Hogan Event Preview:
Speedfest 250 Lanier National
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Chris Ragle
Cleveland, GA 1/22/10- With temperatures reaching the mid 60’s in late January it just seems appropriate that its time to get back to racing in the south. For the second consecutive year at Lanier National Speedway, CRA Super Series’ Speedfest will get underway as the first short track event of the new year. For Jason Hogan, who’s race team is based a whole thirty miles away, it couldn’t be a more ideal situation to get his 2010 racing season started. Last season Hogan was the best short track competitor on track as the checker flagged waived but he finished second overall to NASCAR star Kyle Busch who claimed the win. With a new motor package established Jason feels that this season’s race could be a different story this go around.

QUOTES
-It’s a new year and
a new season and you are starting out this year the same way you did in ‘09 by
racing at your home track of Lanier National
“Well me and Kyle know each other pretty well and everyone from the pits to the grandstands knows he is the guy to beat no matter where or what series he races in. For me, last year it was a disappointment to finish second at Lanier no matter whom it was to. To beat Kyle will take a lot but I’m pretty confident we can get it done. As long as we can put together a solid qualifying effort in order to stay right there with him, we should be fine. You know Kyle is going to start up front, so if you want a chance at beating him you have to match every move he makes and not waste your equipment coming up through the field.”
-As of right now you
yourself are just competing in the super
late model portion of the event, but you will be a busy man come that weekend
in general as both David Hole, who’s cars you house and maintain, along with Dalton
Grindle, who you are mentoring as a developmental driver, are all competing
that same weekend as well. What’s it going to take to make sure everyone has a
successful weekend of racing and did the possibility of having to compete more
so against Dalton affect your decision not to race the pro late model race?
“Well it’s really not as big of a deal as some might think.
Will it be busy, yes; but once David (Hole) gets to the track he kind of does
his own thing and I do mine. As for
-What does 2010 hold
for Jason Hogan Motorsports right now, or is that something you will focus more
on after this race?
“As of right now we are just trying to focus on this race
and get through this weekend coming up. Speedfest is a big deal for me because
I have so many family, friends, and sponsors that come out to watch, so right
now that’s our focus. After Speedfest we will sit down and look at what we want
to do and can do. We won’t be running any particular series or anything like
that so more than likely it will be a week by week type thing.”
